Libby Robertson, DVM, Owner
Dr. Robertson graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While Dr. Robertson enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she especially enjoys surgery, behavior coaching, and helping large dogs grow old gracefully. She wants to make sure all of our clients feel welcome and receive the best care for their pets.
Dr. Robertson purchased Martin City Animal Hospital in 2008 from Dr. Dave Deily, who founded the clinic in 1977. She has transformed the practice to give clients the best in client service and their pets the best veterinary care available.
Dr. Robertson started her veterinary career as a mixed animal veterinarian at Lee’s Summit Animal Hospital. She then transitioned to primarily small animal medicine and worked as a relief veterinarian for clinics all around the Kansas City metropolitan area, including Smithville Animal Hospital, Platte Woods Animal Hospital and Lakewood Animal Health Center.
Dr. Robertson received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas (she bleeds crimson and blue!) in journalism and worked in the advertising industry and as an event planner prior to going back to school. She then attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City studying biology and chemistry, and she was accepted to Mizzou for vet school prior to completing those degrees.
Dr. Robertson has two daughters and two dogs, Duke and Esky. You may occasionally see the girls (and the dogs) helping out at the clinic. Dr. Robertson enjoys working in her yard, hiking, skiing and even a little woodworking when she has a free minute.
